Italy's economic growth in the second quarter exceeded expectations

According to CoinMeta, preliminary data released by Italy on Thursday showed that the economy grew by 0.2% in the second quarter compared to the previous three months, slightly higher than market expectations, providing support for the economic outlook for the year. Italy's National Institute of Statistics stated that Italy's gross domestic product (GDP) from April to June increased by 1.0% year-on-year, also significantly higher than market expectations. Despite the significant rise in energy costs due to the conflict in Iran, Italy's economic performance was still better than expected. The statistics institute noted that the quarter-on-quarter growth in the second quarter was mainly due to the positive contribution of domestic demand, which was sufficient to offset the drag on economic growth caused by trade.
