Mitsubishi UFJ: If the Bank of England raises bets on a rate hike in September, the pound may rise

According to CoinMeta, Mitsubishi UFJ Bank's Derek Halpenny stated in a report that if the Bank of England's interest rate decision strengthens market expectations for a rate hike in September, the pound may rise. He pointed out that the Bank of England might express more concern about the impact of the conflict in the Middle East. Compared to the June meeting, it now seems that the prolongation of the conflict is a greater risk. A longer-term increase in energy prices could "certainly force the Bank of England to take action, even amidst mixed prospects in the labor market." Currently, the market reflects an expectation of a 50% probability of a rate hike in September.
