According to CoinMeta, the Seoul police stated that a phishing website that impersonated Flare Network and was operational for 8 days last October defrauded 71 investors of 3.4 million XRP tokens, worth approximately 12.3 billion Korean won (equivalent to 8.5 million US dollars). The scammer gang pretended to be Flare Network and its FXRP tokens by forging Wikipedia entries, blog articles, and YouTube videos. Investigators traced 27.3 billion Korean won (equivalent to 18.8 million US dollars) in funds through wallets associated with the gang and froze 17.3 billion Korean won of that amount. Currently, two 29-year-old men have been transferred to the prosecution for aggravated fraud, a 34-year-old stuntman has been charged with fraud, and another 29-year-old suspect is now on the International Criminal Police Organization's Red Notice.
