According to CoinMeta, the Malaysian police cracked down on an illegal Bitcoin mining farm on Tronoh, arresting two men and seizing 73 mining machines. The police stated that these mining machines were powered by stolen electricity. According to a statement from Assistant Commissioner Md Noor Aehawan Mohammad of the local police station in Batu Gajah, the police carried out a coordinated raid on Tuesday night, uncovering this illegal mining activity. The investigation found that three properties were all used for Bitcoin mining, and technical inspections confirmed that electricity theft occurred at two of these properties. The two suspects have been detained for three days to assist in the investigation, and the case is being pursued under Article 427 of Malaysia's Criminal Code and Section 37(1) of the Electricity Supply Act of 1990.
