According to CoinMeta, the South Korean government has officially confirmed that starting from January 2027, a 20% tax rate will be imposed on crypto earnings. Any portion of annual profits exceeding 2.5 million Korean won will be taxed, and losses cannot be carried forward. Over 13 million crypto investors will be affected by this policy. Since 2022, the government has postponed this tax policy three times and has stated that there will be no further delays.
