Tim Cook: Apple's hybrid AI strategy is a competitive weapon
2026-07-31 08:41:34
According to CoinMeta, Apple CEO Tim Cook stated during a recent earnings call that Apple's hybrid strategy is its competitive advantage, allowing it to run some workloads on both iPhone and Mac. He noted that despite Apple's stock price declining due to supply constraints, the company still has "huge opportunities" in the field of artificial intelligence. Cook will assume the role of Executive Chairman on September 1st and emphasized that Apple's AI application capabilities will be validated through the upcoming updated version of Siri. Unlike other large tech companies that rely on massive cloud computing infrastructure, Apple has relatively lower capital expenditures, with $2.46 billion spent in the June quarter, which was below the market's expectation of $3.44 billion. Cook mentioned that Apple's AI suite can run on devices, utilizing the full performance of Apple's chips instead of relying on cloud computing, which will save the company money.
