According to CoinMeta, as reported by The Block, Republican Senator Thom Tillis and Democratic Senator Ruben Gallego have submitted a new ethical compromise proposal, Clarity Act, to the White House in an attempt to break the legislative deadlock. With the Senate's recess on August 7 just a week away, the proposal has not yet received the necessary 60 votes of support. Democrats have demanded the inclusion of clauses to restrict the crypto interests of the Trump family, while some Republican senators have objections to the stablecoin interest provisions. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has blamed the Democrats for this situation. The Crypto Innovation Committee (CCI) has warned that if the bill is not passed, the United States will lose its global leadership in the field of crypto regulation.
