Amazon releases 2026 Q2 financial report, raising annual capital expenditure to $220 billion

According to CoinMeta, and as reported by Fortune magazine, Amazon's net sales in the second quarter of 2026 reached $200.6 billion, with an operating profit of $27.5 billion, and its stock price rose by more than 9% after the market closed. AWS reported revenue of $42.2 billion, an operating profit of $16.6 billion, and an backlog of customer orders amounting to $496 billion. CEO Andy Jassy stated that Amazon's capital expenditure forecast for 2026 has been raised from $200 billion to $220 billion, with 85% of IT expenditures still being made locally, and AWS is winning the largest share of corporate migration projects.
