BIS: Q1 credit increases by $148 billion in 2026

According to CoinMeta, the Bank for International Settlements reported that bank credit to emerging markets and developing economies increased by $148 billion in the first quarter of 2026, with a focus on Africa, the Middle East, and emerging Europe. In addition, the Bank for International Settlements' global liquidity indicators show strong growth in foreign currency credit denominated in US dollars and euros, with the growth rate of euro-denominated credit being relatively faster.
