The United States takes an important step towards breaking China's monopoly on rare earth magnets
2026-07-31 18:05:20
According to CoinMeta, the United States is seeking to break China's dominance in the field of rare earth magnets and end its strong monopoly. The latest development is that Alloy Manufacturing Company Realloys located in Florida has signed a strategic agreement with South Korean magnet manufacturer JS LINK to develop and produce rare earth magnets that do not rely on China at all. This agreement aims to integrate raw materials, separation, metallurgy, and permanent magnet manufacturing into a North American industrial strategy. Rare earth magnets are crucial in military, industrial, and robotics fields and are widely used in missiles, fighter jets, submarines, industrial robots, electric vehicles, artificial intelligence infrastructure, and wind turbines, among others. China holds an absolute advantage in the production of rare earth magnets, putting the United States at a disadvantage. The agreement between Realloys and JS LINK will pave the way for domestic magnet manufacturing in the United States.
