According to CoinMeta, as reported by Chainalysis, from the beginning of 2026 until the end of the World Cup, the trading volume in the event-related blockchain prediction market reached $20 billion, of which about $5.7 billion occurred during the tournament, involving nearly 400,000 wallets. After the tournament began, the daily trading volume of related markets increased from about $50 million to about $250 million, and on the day of the final, it exceeded $300 million. During the tournament, this accounted for approximately 63% of the total trading volume of the prediction market. Chainalysis identified that about 3,700 participating wallets had interactions with illegal sources, accounting for less than 1%, of which at least $5.4 million came directly from sanctioned sources. FIFA's official digital collectibles platform FIFA Collect processed about $24 million in transactions through the Avalanche chain and helped over 100,000 fans obtain tickets. Chainalysis believes that strict customer identity verification (KYC) and funding source checks result in an extremely low direct association with illegal funds.
