According to CoinMeta, Circle has announced that it has obtained a limited trust charter issued by the New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS). This charter further enhances its compliance status in establishing a national trust bank, making Circle one of the most regulated stablecoin issuers in the cryptocurrency ecosystem. Circle was the first company to obtain a Bitcoin license in New York in 2015.
