Florida woman charged with stealing over $10,000 in rent from elderly people

According to CoinMeta, a woman from Florida has been charged with stealing more than $10,000 in rent from elderly residents. Annie Marie Grant, a former employee of the Jacksonville Housing Authority ( Annie Marie Grant ), accepted rent checks from residents, signed them over to herself, and used a mobile banking app to deposit the funds into her personal account, before transferring them to PayPal. An investigation by the Jacksonville City Ombudsman's Office found that the woman stole over $10,000 in rent between May 2021 and April 2022. The State Attorney's Office has filed charges against her for exploiting elderly individuals, with the amount involved ranging from $10,000 to $50,000.
