Trump considers promoting the "Clear Act" through an ethics agreement
2026-08-01 04:38:15
According to CoinMeta, Trump is considering an ethics agreement whose adoption could affect whether the Senate will review the Crypto Markets Structure Act before its recess in August. Anthony Scaramucci, founder of SkyBridge Capital, stated that he expects Trump to accept the revised ethics provisions negotiated by Republican Senator Tom Tillis and Democratic Senator Ruben Gallego. Scaramucci pointed out that if Trump ultimately signs the agreement, no one will be able to stop the passage of the Clear Act. Nevertheless, Trump and the White House have not yet publicly confirmed their acceptance of this proposal. Democratic senators in the Senate previously opposed earlier ethics proposals supported by Republicans, as they limited law enforcement powers to federal prosecutors only.
