2026-08-01 06:30:56
According to CoinMeta, 1inch announced the launch of its new shared liquidity protocol Aqua, aimed at improving efficiency and unlocking cross-network liquidity for users. 1inch co-founder and CEO Sergej Kunz discussed the launch of this protocol at a roundtable meeting TheStreet and described the specific sources of the efficiency improvements. A recent study commissioned by 1inch found that approximately 80% of the liquidity on decentralized exchanges is idle at any given time, which amounts to about $1.6 billion that could not generate revenue. Kunz stated that as real-world assets RWA enter the DeFi ecosystem, RWA requires infrastructure to ensure appropriate liquidity in this area.
