According to CoinMeta, as reported by cryptoast, the French government submitted a bill to the Council of Ministers on July 27th, proposing to approve the multilateral agreement on the "Framework for Reporting on Crypto Assets" ( CARF) established by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development ( OECD ). France plans to sign this agreement in November 2024, and after approval, it will be able to automatically exchange tax information on crypto assets collected under the DAC8 framework with jurisdictions outside the European Union. According to CARF, relevant crypto asset service providers are required to verify customer identities, tax residency, and tax identification numbers, as well as report on currency exchanges, exchanges between crypto assets and fiat currencies, and certain payment transactions. The first batch of 47 jurisdictions plans to start information exchange in 2027, another 28 are scheduled to implement it in 2028, and the United States plans to join in 2029.
