According to CoinMeta, the United States Attorney's Office for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts announced that it has filed a civil forfeiture lawsuit in an attempt to recover 47,461.73111 USDT, worth approximately $47,000. The prosecution alleges that scammers induced victims to withdraw money from their bank accounts and deposit it into the Bitcoin Depot cryptocurrency wallet, which was then encrypted using ATM, before transferring the funds. Law enforcement authorities tracked down and seized the relevant assets in March 2026. During the investigation, it was also discovered that the funds of four additional victims had flowed into the same cryptocurrency wallet. The lawsuit is currently still in the accusation stage.
