According to CoinMeta, as reported by NBC News, former Congressman George Santos agreed to pay $35,000 to settle the investigation by CFTC into suspicious transactions on his platform Kalshi. The settlement agreement includes $17,000 that George Santos profited from the transactions and a fine of $17,500. In addition, CFTC imposed a three-year trading ban on George Santos. George Santos stated that he reached the settlement in order to resolve the matter and did not admit to any improper behavior.
