According to CoinMeta, as reported by Nikkei News, the Japanese government and the Bank of Japan conducted exchange rate intervention to buy yen in the New York foreign exchange market on the 31st for the second consecutive day. As a result, the yen strengthened rapidly against the US dollar, reaching around 157 yen per US dollar at one point.
