These funds will be used to acquire THAAD missiles worth $5.75 billion and additional Patriot missiles with enhanced capabilities worth $5.57 billion. In addition, the Pentagon's procurement list also includes Standard-6 missiles worth $1.9 billion and Tomahawk cruise missiles worth $1.3 billion, as well as $692 million for the purchase of Precision Strike Missiles, which were used for the first time in military operations against Iran. As the U.S. military strikes Iran and intercepts drone and missile attacks targeting U.S. bases in the Middle East, concerns about the state of the U.S. weapons inventory have become more prominent.
