According to CoinMeta, and as reported by The New York Post, the co-founder of a blockchain data company Bitquery, who is also a former CEO Dionysios "Dean" Karakitsos, has been sued in Manhattan's Supreme Court. He is accused of illegally misappropriating over 5 million dollars and of deleting 194 expense records from the company's accounting system on the eve of his resignation in October 2025 in an attempt to cover up evidence. The lawsuit alleges that since 2022, Karakitsos has transferred funds to personal and affiliated entities by monopolizing the company's accounts, and deceived investors by inflating the company's revenue. Currently, Bitquery has appointed another co-founder, Aleksey Studnev, as the new CEO and is demanding that he return at least 5 million dollars and hand over control of the bank accounts. Karakitsos has responded by strongly denying the allegations and stated that they will respond through legal proceedings.
