Strategy: Supports market structure bill, suffers quarterly losses of $8.22 billion
2026-08-01 23:53:53
According to CoinMeta, Strategy (formerly known as MicroStrategy) has supported the Market Structure Act after reporting a quarterly loss of $8.22 billion. The company stated that clear regulation of digital assets could reduce financing costs and improve institutional participation. Strategy faced difficult financial conditions in the second quarter, with the report showing a net loss of $8.22 billion for that quarter, or $24.45 per diluted share, a significant decline from last year's same-period profit of $32.60 per share. The act proposes to classify securities tokens under the regulation of SEC, while digital commodities would be regulated by CFTC. Clear regulatory divisions could make institutional investors more willing to participate in the market.
