According to CoinMeta, Goldman Sachs released a research report stating that it has raised its target price for Samsung Electronics to 490,000 Korean won, anticipating that demand for memory will significantly exceed supply. The bank noted that Samsung Electronics' second-quarter operating profit met expectations, and it raised its earnings per share forecast for 2026 to 2028 by about 2%. Goldman Sachs expects the gap between memory demand and supply to widen in 2027, with supply remaining tight in 2028 as well. In addition, Samsung Electronics has signed long-term agreements with major data center customers, which will provide better profitability visibility and downside protection. The company aims to become the leader in the AI memory market and is expected to account for over 60% of HBM revenue in the second half of 2026. The stock is currently trading at a forecasted price-earnings ratio of 3.1 times for 2027 and a price-to-book ratio of 1.2 times, with a shareholder return rate of nearly 50%.
