According to CoinMeta, analysts pointed out that the joint intervention by the US and Japan carried significant weight, causing the yen bears to retreat. The US dollar fell by about 0.3% against the yen, reaching a high near 155.2 during the day, which kept the market on alert for new rounds of intervention. On Monday, Japan's Ministry of Finance stated that Japan and the US had coordinated a buying intervention in the yen and would not hesitate to take further action to prevent the yen from falling to a 40-year low. US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen also said that the US would consider expanding the scale of the Federal Reserve's repurchase program in the coming months to provide temporary dollar liquidity, calling this tool a "important safety valve." Senior market analyst matt noted that Yellen's remarks might carry more weight than the intervention itself, suggesting that the yen may have hit bottom this year.
