According to CoinMeta, Amazon has become the fifth company in history to have a market value of over three trillion dollars. At the beginning of trading on Monday in the U.S. stock market, Amazon’s (AMZN) stock price rose by 5.3%, continuing the enthusiastic upward trend sparked last week by the second-quarter financial report showing an accelerated growth in cloud computing revenue. Amazon joins NVIDIA, Alphabet, Microsoft, and Apple as one of the few companies with a market value exceeding three trillion dollars. For most of the past three months, Amazon’s stock price has been under pressure due to investors losing confidence in the company’s shares after it promised to invest billions of dollars in the field of artificial intelligence. From its historical high on May 6th to the three-month low reached last month, its stock price fell by nearly 18%. However, last week, after Amazon’s Cloud Services (AWS) division announced a revenue increase for the previous quarter that reached a new high since 2021, these concerns were alleviated. Boosted by this news, the company’s stock price soared by more than 15%, recording the largest single-day increase in over 14 years, and its market value increased by nearly 400 billion dollars as a result. This also helped Amazon regain its position as the best-performing stock among this year’s “Big Seven.”
