2026-08-04 17:58:04
According to CoinMeta, the crypto asset management company Hashdex announced that it will close and liquidate its $14.7 million in spot Bitcoin ETF assets, becoming the first spot Bitcoin fund to be liquidated in the United States. Hashdex stated that the reasons for the closure include an assessment of the fund's assets, liquidity, operating costs, and investor interest. Since its initial approval in January 2024, the inflow of funds into this ETF has gradually decreased, with investors preferring to pursue higher returns from AI related investments. According to Sosovalue data, there has been a net outflow from these ETF funds over the past three months. The Bitcoin ETF held by this fund is among the smallest in value among U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF funds, recording the lowest cumulative inflow. The last trading day for this fund will be August 17th, after which the remaining Bitcoins will be sold and the cash proceeds distributed to shareholders.
