Iran and Oman discuss temporary arrangements for the strait, which may grant Iran full control
2026-08-04 18:10:44
According to CoinMeta, and as reported by Reuters, in the discussions between Iran and Oman regarding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, the temporary plan reached between Tehran and Oman may grant Iran full control over all inbound shipping. In addition, vessels departing the Strait of Hormuz will follow a route between Iran and Oman, and Oman will only allow ships to leave after notifying Iranian officials to ensure that Tehran can keep track of the situation and retain the right to intervene. Sources indicate that this is the general approach currently under discussion, and it is unlikely that Iran would accept any other plan other than this one for the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
