According to CoinMeta, Patrick Stephen Yaroch, the former FBI supervisor, pleaded guilty to stealing approximately $1 million in digital assets and had about $925,000 in funds confiscated from a wallet under government control. Yaroch was accused of using an internal system to obtain encryption wallet credentials related to hostile countries and transferring the funds to his own encryption wallet. He admitted to making 10 unauthorized transfers between the end of 2024 and the beginning of 2025, involving approximately $1 million in digital assets. After the incident was reported internally, Yaroch was placed on leave last Wednesday, subsequently fired, and arrested on Friday. Law enforcement officers seized equipment, mnemonics, and a Trezor wallet from his residence in Virginia, which was used to access his accounts on the Suilend and Kraken exchanges.
