According to CoinMeta, the European Commission has approved a deal in which the Saudi Public Investment Fund and a consortium will acquire Electronic Arts for $55 billion, with the transaction expected to be completed on August 4th. Electronic Arts has confirmed that it has received all necessary regulatory approvals. This deal is jointly carried out by the Saudi Public Investment Fund, Silver Lake Capital, and another entity not specified in the text. Turqi Alnowaiser, Vice President and Head of International Investments at PIF, stated that PIF is committed to building and supporting an ecosystem that connects players, developers, and IP creators. Electronic Arts announced that this transaction is the largest all-cash private acquisition in history.
