According to CoinMeta, data released by Statistics Canada on Tuesday showed that due to the growth in gold exports offsetting the decline in energy exports, Canada's trade surplus expanded slightly in June, reaching C$3.86 billion (about $2.7 billion), an increase from C$3.7 billion in May after revision. In June, Canada's imports and exports grew by 0.2% and 0.4% respectively. Among them, exports of metal and non-metal mineral products increased by 16.5%, which was the main driving factor, mainly due to increased gold exports to the UK, as well as foreign residents purchasing gold held by Canada in June. At the same time, due to the decline in crude oil prices, Canada's energy exports decreased by 10%.
