According to CoinMeta, the crypto asset custody firm Bitgo will replace LayerZero with Chainlink CCIP as the exclusive cross-chain infrastructure provider for WBTC, involving WBTC with a market value of approximately $7.4 billion. Bitgo will adopt the Chainlink cross-chain token standard to unify the multi-chain deployment of WBTC and will default to using CCIP for assets issued in the future. Previously, after the cross-chain bridge based on LayerZero by Kelp DAO suffered an attack worth about $292 million, multiple projects gradually switched to Chainlink CCIP. Including those that have migrated to WBTC, the total scale of the assets that have been migrated is approximately $14.6 billion.
