According to CoinMeta, and as reported by Reuters, Samsung Electronics and SK SK Hynix are evaluating the etching equipment of SMIC for potential use in their factories in China. Samsung Electronics denies having tested or considered using SMIC's equipment in their Chinese factories, while SK SK Hynix has declined to comment. Currently, both companies rely on the etching equipment from Applied Materials and Lamina Corporation for their production lines.
