Goodfire Launches Sil Early Release: The First Commercial Tool to Unveil the Black Box of AI and Directly Modify Behavior

According to CoinMeta, the Goodfire laboratory released the Sil early version, which is the first commercial tool that breaks open the black box of AI and directly modifies behavior. This early version packages mechanical interpretability (mechanistic interpretability) technology into a commercial product, supporting the entire process from dataset construction to model training. Researchers can use this tool to develop experimental plans, track progress, and organize results. It is capable of training and optimizing models, reproducing research papers, and identifying issues in data and model design. With the Sil early version, they analyzed a model with a total of 2.8 trillion parameters (Kimi K3), identified characteristics related to the model's internal control writing style, and adjusted these characteristics to make the model respond in a "pirate tone." The Sil early version is currently available through the macOS client, with a monthly fee of $1,000 for the personal version. Those using the GPU version also need to pay an additional fee, but they can also integrate it with their own servers.
