According to CoinMeta, Nigeria's Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission ( nuprc ) stated that it plans to attract up to $50 billion in offshore oil and gas investment by 2030, with at least 22 offshore projects set to come online. As Africa's largest oil producer, Nigeria is striving to increase oil and gas production and attract new capital. Since 2024, the regulatory body has approved over $57 billion in oilfield development plans, which are expected to boost oil and gas production, expand infrastructure, and enhance attractiveness to upstream investors. In 2025, 31 companies will be granted 37 new oil and gas blocks, and the oil bidding plans for 2026 are being finalized. Nigeria's goal is to nearly double its daily oil production to 3 million barrels by 2030.
