Cloudflare opens the main door for AI Agent: One-click access to WebMCP via website
2026-08-06 23:17:58
According to CoinMeta, Cloudflare has launched a developer preview of WebMCP. To integrate with websites using Cloudflare, one only needs to enable the console setting; there is no need to modify the source code or redeploy the website. This allows browsers to Agent to detect and utilize the tools that the website has voluntarily made available. WebMCP is a browser interface initiative involving Google and Microsoft, and Agent enables direct invocation of web page functions with specific parameters, such as searching for products, filling out forms, and booking services. The current preview offers two types of default toolkits: C2PA for reading image sources, and MCP for connecting to existing servers on the website. Cloudflare was previously mainly used to help websites block AI crawlers, but now it provides a new approach: Agent which allows operations to be completed within the web page using the tools provided by the website owner.
