According to CoinMeta, DoorDash has announced that it has obtained Part 135 certification from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), becoming the eighth drone operator to receive this certification. This certification will enable DoorDash to establish a commercial drone delivery network. Despite obtaining the certification, DoorDash still needs to obtain airspace authorization and may require additional exemptions to fly outside of the direct line of sight of pilots. The company stated that in the future, drones will mainly be designed and manufactured within the United States to reduce dependence on Chinese technology.
