According to CoinMeta, and as reported by Bloomberg, the ethical appendix of the bipartisan crypto bill under negotiation proposes that U.S. President Donald Trump divest from crypto-related companies and allow him to defer capital gains taxes. If implemented, Trump may not have to pay taxes on profits from selling related assets for several years. Trump has disclosed that in 2025, he earned at least $1.4 billion from cryptocurrency and meme coin-related businesses. His affiliated companies dt, marks, DeFi, llc hold 38% of the shares in world, liberty, and financial.
