According to CoinMeta, in a research report on August 6th, Goldman Sachs raised its forecast for the global data center power demand growth to 170% by 2030. It is estimated that the combined capital expenditures and R&D of hyperscalers will reach $1.2 trillion in 2026 and increase to $1.7 trillion in 2027. If the premium for green and reliable electricity in the United States, which is $40 to $48 per megawatt-hour, is applied to the global additional demand, the total industry expenditure in 2030 will be approximately $45 to $53 billion. In addition, AI has reduced the time from R&D to first revenue in the field of drug discovery from 13 years to 10 years, creating a present value for the company of about $84 to $93 billion.
