According to CoinMeta, citing data from DeFiLlama, in July 2026, the crypto industry suffered losses of approximately $247.4 million due to hacker attacks and vulnerabilities, which is the second-highest amount of the year after $644 million in April, representing a more than threefold increase from the $75 million in June. The largest single incident in July was the Coldcard vulnerability. Galaxy Digital reported that at least 7,300 wallets lost over $100 million in three confirmed attacks, and if the suspected fourth round of attacks is taken into account, the total loss could approach $130 million. DeFiLlama estimated the cost of this incident at around $115 million. In addition, other significant security incidents in July included Bonzo Lend with losses of about $9 million, SecondFi with about $2.6 million, AFX Protocol with about $24 million, and Verus Ethereum Bridge with about $7.5 million in losses.
