According to CoinMeta, the vulnerability in the random number generator (RNG) of Coldcard is still causing funds to be lost from wallets. A recent audit (AI) discovered 85 additional critical vulnerabilities in the Bitcoin ecosystem. A firmware error from five years ago made Coldcard the largest known case of Bitcoin seed theft, while supplementary analysis (AI) revealed a systemic underestimation of such vulnerabilities within the industry.
