South Korea's single-stock leverage and reverse ETF trading volume declines, investors turning to overseas markets and semiconductor products

According to CoinMeta, and as reported by A early on in, after the implementation of regulatory measures for single-stock leverage and reverse ETF in South Korea, on August 7th, the total trading volume of 16 related products was 941.2 billion Korean won, which was below 1 trillion Korean won for two consecutive days following the previous trading day's volume of 919.8 billion Korean won. The new regulations raised the minimum margin requirement for individual investors participating in single-stock leverage ETF from 10 million Korean won to 30 million Korean won. Zheng Xianzong, a securities researcher in South Korea, stated that although the trading volume of individual stock leverage ETF has decreased, the trading volume of semiconductor leverage ETF has increased. Investors may be turning to overseas single-stock leverages ETF that are not subject to domestic South Korean regulations, such as the CSOP SK Hynix Daily (2x) leverage products listed in Hong Kong.
