According to CoinMeta, President Trump stated that cryptocurrencies are a “major event,” and the price of Bitcoin broke through $65,000 on Friday. Trump warned that if Washington slows down its policies regarding digital assets, China might gain an advantage. His comments came as Bitcoin tested the upper limit of its trading range from July. Whale purchases and inflows of spot ETF also supported this price increase. Market data shows that wallets holding 10 to 10,000 Bitcoins saw a 0.34% increase in balance since July 29, while wallets holding less than 0.01 Bitcoin saw a 0.59% decrease. At the same time, U.S. employment data also supported risk assets, with non-farm payroll decreasing by 23,000 in July, far lower than the economists’ expected 83,000.
