Ethereum EIP-8363 Delegation Reward Cuts Proposal Sparks Controversy over Community Economic Model
2026-08-08 00:21:13
According to CoinMeta, as reported by Cointelegraph, Ethereum improvement proposal EIP-8363 aims to reduce the new token supply in the network by gradually lowering staking rewards. This proposal has encountered significant opposition from many community members. Currently, there are approximately 41.5 million ETH tokens in staking on Ethereum, accounting for about 34% of the total supply, with a staking yield of around 2.67%. Supporters believe that reducing the token supply will help improve the long-term monetary attributes of ETH, while opponents argue that market mechanisms will naturally limit staking growth and that there is no need to adjust the issuance policy.
