According to CoinMeta, the U.S. Treasury Department announced sanctions against two Iranian cryptocurrency exchanges, as part of an action to freeze approximately $1 billion in Iranian crypto assets. The U.S. State Department also offered a reward of up to $15 million for information that could lead to disrupting the financial network of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. The Treasury Department stated that wallets associated with the Revolutionary Guard sent over $1 million in cryptocurrencies to one exchange and recovered $2 million.
