According to CoinMeta, based on Santiment data, 2.27 million new Bitcoin wallets were added this week, bringing the total number of active wallets to 751,000, marking the highest level of on-chain activity in several months. This surge, driven by security concerns, occurred after cold storage hardware wallets were compromised by firmware vulnerabilities, resulting in the theft of over $116 million in funds. Owners quickly transferred their assets to protect their investments.
