According to CoinMeta, a serious border and air incident occurred between Ukraine and Bulgaria, which has angered Bulgarian officials who have demanded an explanation. Regional media reports that on Saturday, a Ukrainian drone violated Bulgarian airspace and exploded on Bulgarian territory, directly threatening critical energy infrastructure. The Bulgarian Ministry of Defense quickly pointed the finger at Kiev, stating that the debris of the destroyed drone indicated a type of weapon "widely used by the Ukrainian military." Despite the two countries generally maintaining "friendly" relations, Bulgaria has summoned the Ukrainian ambassador over this incident, with a meeting scheduled for Monday. Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev said that the drone entered Bulgarian airspace from Romania and then exploded 1,000 meters from a compressor station of the Trans-Balkan gas pipeline, with the explosion site near the former Kardam border checkpoint between the two countries. Radev expressed major concerns, stating that the explosive payload carried by the drone was "quite large." However, so far, Bulgarian officials have reached a consensus that the incident does not seem to have been intentional.
