According to CoinMeta, due to the BIP-110 proposal not receiving sufficient support, Bitcoin underwent a fork on Saturday. The new chain produced only two blocks about eight hours after going live, with the current block height being 961,633, while the main chain has reached 961,681. The BIP-110 proposal aims to restrict the storage of non-financial data in Bitcoin transactions, but in the past two weeks, only 2.53% of blocks have supported this proposal, which is far below the 55% required for activation. Due to the small number of miners on the new chain, the block generation speed is slow, and it is estimated that it will take about 350 days to complete 2,016 blocks at the current rate.
