According to CoinMeta, as reported by livecoins, the Supreme Court of Brazil (STJ) rejected the release application of a major suspect in a PIX hacking case, maintaining his detention. The case involves payment infrastructure service provider C& M Software. The investigation indicates that the criminal gang is suspected of stealing approximately 813 million reais (about 160 million US dollars) by unauthorized access to their settlement system. They then dispersed the funds across nearly 300 bank accounts and converted some of the money into BTC and USDT, transferring it through multiple blockchains to conceal the source of the funds. The main attack occurred in June 2025, and the case is still under investigation and trial.
