U.S. 30-year mortgage rates rise to 6.69%

According to CoinMeta, the 30-year fixed mortgage loan rate in the United States has risen to 6.69%, approaching the highest level in over a year. According to the latest survey from Freddie Mac, the average rate on August 6th was 6.69%, up from 6.66% a week earlier. Meanwhile, the 15-year fixed mortgage loan rate has slightly dropped to 6.01%. Although current rates are still far below the double-digit levels of the 1970s and 1980s, they are still higher than the historical low of 2.65% at the beginning of 2021.
