According to CoinMeta, the decentralized lending giant Jupiter launched its new version 2 (v2) on Monday, which allows deposit and borrowing positions to serve as trading liquidity simultaneously. This means that the same amount of US dollars can earn both loan interest and share in trading fees. According to DefiLlama data, Jupiter currently holds approximately $1.9 billion in deposits, which have generated about $1.6 million in fees over the past 30 days, with an annualized yield of around 1%. The total active loans amount to $822.7 million and have fluctuated between $600 million and $900 million since September. The new version introduces two optional features: smart collateral allows deposits from USDC, USDT, SOL, or JUPSOL to be automatically matched into relevant liquidity pools, allowing users to earn both loan interest and trading fees as well as staking rewards. Jupiter indicates that a mix of new loans and migrated positions is expected, but no targets or upper limits have been set.
